Dr Ahmad Hafizam bin Hasmi currently is a Forensic Medicine Specialist practising in National Institute of Forensic Medicine, Hospital Kuala Lumpur. He graduated and coffered MD degree from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in 2003 and subsequently pursued his postgraduate qualification, Master of Medicine (Forensic Pathology) at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and graduated in the year 2013. He has undergone Advanced Competency Program (Forensic Pathology) at Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine, Melbourne Australia in 2019.

Dr Ahmad Rostam bin Md Zin

He is currently practising as a Consultation Liaison Psychiatry in Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah Alor Setar.

Dr Ahmad Rostam bin Md Zin is currently practising as a Consultation Liaison Psychiatry in Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah Alor Setar. He has been in service for the past 16 years and has been working in more than 10 hospitals all over Malaysia and Singapore. He is currently an EXCO member of Malaysian Psychiatric Association and past president of Early Career Psychiatrist.

Dr. Hung Liang Choo

Dr. Hung Liang Choo is a Senior Consultant Paediatrician and Paediatric Cardiologist in Hospital Tunku Azizah, Kuala Lumpur.

Dr. Hung Liang Choo is a Senior Consultant Paediatrician and Paediatric Cardiologist in Hospital Tunku Azizah, Kuala Lumpur. She is currently the Head of the Pediatric Cardiology Unit, and the Deputy Head of Department.


She obtained her MBBS from Universiti Malaya Kuala Lumpur, and MRCP (Paeds) in the United Kingdom. She was awarded the British Paediatric Association Fellowship in Paediatric Cardiology and later worked as a trainee registrar in Paediatric Cardiology in the UK. In 2009, she updated her skills in echocardiography in Boston Children Hospital, USA.


She designed, developed and established the current `Hands-on Basic Paediatric Echocardiography Course’ in 2007, and was instrumental in the introduction and implementation of pulse oximetry screening of newborn for critical congenital heart disease in Malaysia in 2014. Her other interests are Kawasaki Disease, Rheumatic Heart Disease, and Marfan Syndrome. She initiated and ran the Malaysian Kawasaki Disease Registry from 2009-2018. 


Currently, she is a member of the Asian Kawasaki Disease Clinical Research Network,  the President of the Malaysian Paediatric Association and the Deputy Secretary General of the Asia-Pacific Pediatric Association.

Dr. Narul Aida Salleh

Dr. Narul Aida Salleh is a Family Medicine Specialist at Klinik Kesihatan Kuala Lumpur (KKKL).

Dr. Narul Aida Salleh is a Family Medicine Specialist at Klinik Kesihatan Kuala Lumpur (KKKL).  She obtained her medical degree from University of Malaya in 1992, followed by Masters in Medicine (Family Medicine) in 2002. She has special interest in HIV management at the Primary Care level and has successfully set up a HIV/ STI clinic in KKKL. Better known as Dr Nurul among her patients, she is heavily involved with HIV outreach work with a few NGOs around KL. Besides seeing HIV/ STI cases, she also sees and treats chronic Hepatitis C patients, NCD patients and oversees the running of TB and Infectious Disease unit in KKKL.

Dr. Syazatul Syakirin binti Sirol Aflah

Dr. Syazatul Syakirin binti Sirol Aflah, is a respiratory physician working at the Institute of Respiratory Medicine, Kuala Lumpur.

Dr. Syazatul Syakirin binti Sirol Aflah, is a respiratory physician working at the Institute of Respiratory Medicine, Kuala Lumpur. She graduated from the National University of Malaysia in 2003 and obtained her membership of royal college physician (MRCP) United Kingdom in the year 2010. She pursued respiratory sub-speciality training in Malaysia with further training in Interstitial Lung Disease in Forli, Italy with Profesor Venerino Poletti. She is a member of Malaysia Thoracic Society (MTS), Malaysia Association Bronchology Intervention Pulmonology (MABIP), World Association Bronchology Intervention Pulmonology (WABIP), Asia Pacific Society of Respirology (APSR), International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) and World Association Sarcoidosis and other granulomatous disorders. She is actively in research and participates in presenting oral and poster in local and international congress. Her main interests in respiratory medicine are in obstructive airway disease, tuberculosis  and special interest in interstitial lung disease.

Dr. Tan Soek Siam

Senior Consultant Hepatologist, Department of Hepatology, Selayang Hospital.

Dr. Tan Soek Siam is the Senior Consultant Hepatologist, Department of Hepatology, Selayang Hospital. She was the head of department and head of hepatology service in MOH up until 2017. Dr. Tan graduated from Trinity College, Dublin (Ireland) with honours in Medicine and conducted her housemanship and senior housemanship in Ireland. After passing her postgraduate exams she returned to serve as a clinical specialist at both Ipoh Hospital and Kuala Lumpur Hospital (Malaysia), in the latter hospital she started her training in Hepatology. She did her fellowship in hepatology in the Institute of Liver Study at King’s College Hospital, United Kingdom and also received training in Queen Mary Hospital, Hong Kong and University of Michigan, USA. She had received several awards for her clinical service and her research work from local and international bodies.


Dr Tan is the immediate Past President of Malaysian Society of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Deputy Chair and Scientific Co-Chair (Hepatology) of Asian Pacific Digestive Week (APDW2020), Kuala Lumpur. She is also a member of APASL ACLF Research Consortium (AARC) and a member of Editorial Board of Hepatology International.


Dr. Tan’s research interests include acute liver failure, acute-on-chronic liver failure, chronic hepatitis B and C, autoimmune liver disease, non alcoholic fatty liver disease and liver transplantation. She is the principal investigator of numerous viral hepatitis B and C and non alcoholic fatty liver disease clinical trials. She had won several grants for research and clinical trial funding. She is a member of the Asia Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver (APASL)-ACLF working party, the APASL-ACLF Research Consortium (AARC). She had authored thirty publications in peer review journals, a few book chapters and a reviewer for several peer review journals. She has experience as organiser and faculty member of several clinical and research meetings at national and international conferences.

Dr. Vanitha A/P R. Thangaratnam is a Senior Hospice Doctor, working with Kasih Hospice Care Society in Petaling Jaya, which is a non governmental organization providing free medical, psychosocial, emotional and spiritual support for patients with life limiting illness. Dr Vanitha has been working with Kasih Hospice Care Society for the past 12 years and is in charge of the medical team.

He read medicine at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak and graduated in 2001. He undertook training in Internal Medicine and obtained his MRCP (UK) and Master of Medicine (Internal Medicine) from National University of Singapore in 2007.
